The Best Swim Spa
Are you looking for an objective comparison of swim spas? A third party review that compares models, options and features and clearly reviews the strengths and weaknesses of each in an unbiased format. Well you're not going to find it. No group, as of yet, has had the motivation and/or ability to create an independent comparison:
- Magazines - the publications that discuss swim spas get their advertising revenue from swim spa manufacturers. They don't want to put off any manufacturer with an unfavorable review
- Websites - will post ratings and reviews, but how can you tell who is independent and who is just knocking a competitor?
- Independent Rating Agencies - the only truly independent rating agency is Consumer Reports and they haven't yet decided to rate swim spas.
So here we are. Consumers are left with an abundance of information, but no clear independent guidance on the what is best swim spa.
And the answer is ...
You have to decide for yourself:
- The best swim spa truly depends on what you are looking for. A serious swimmer would should chose a different swim spa from a leisure user. How important is fit and finish to you? How important is service to you? What options are important to you?
- Then you need to see the swim spa in person. Take a wet test. How comfortable are the seats and jets? How does the swim current compare to other manufacturers? How easy is it to get in and out of?
- Finally, be sure to check out the business with the BBB. Look for multiple listings of the same business (i.e. find all listings for both the manufacturer and the local dealer)
If you educate yourself, treat all advice with a healthily level of skepticism and figure out what best meets your needs, you will make a good choice.
